30 Years of Great Music
To all Amigos/as

NEWSLETTER
Dear Amigos, February 6, 2022
I would like to dedicate this newsletter to all our generous Sponsors !
First of all, I need to thank you, faithful members, for your support over the years and recently
through thick and thin without complaints. Thank you also for extra generous donations, which come in very handy in these times of rising expenses.
Our most generous financial support comes from the real estate company, QP Savills. Thank you ladies for your unstinting presence and help.
Amigos Loes and Henk Vojis have been welcoming hosts for many of our musicians who were able to spend their Algarve time in beautiful apartments in the Val Verde complex near Quinta do Lago. Thank you for again accommodating our upcoming April musicians and their partners and family.
My friend Dr. Maryann Whitehead is again placing her guest accommodation in her spectacular villa in Quinta das Raposeiras at the disposal of not only our three March musicians, but also again in May for our Berlin artists. Thank you very much Maryann.
Amiga Gilly Stenvers has come to our rescue so hospitably when at the very last moment a bed and some welcoming company was needed for the young viola player of the Vol Art Ensemble. You were a great hostess to the young man from the North.
Amiga Erla Walter has a very popular guest cottage just around the corner from Os Agostos, where various of our musicians have been able to stay. Now she is offering it to our Italian pianist in June. Many thanks, Erla.
And Os Agostos, of course! Here I have to also thank over again our hosts Maria and Antonio Farrajota, who report that they are beginning to prepare for a revival of their “main business” – big weddings in this coming year! Yet, they are graciously continuing as our hosts for our music performances. Accommodation in their suites, however, will not be available as before, hence my plea for alternative hosting and accommodation offers.
Special thanks go to courteous Amigos who invite our visiting musicians to a lunch or dinner during their stay, who chauffeur them around on Algarve sight seeing stints or entertain them to a friendly coffee. These tokens of friendship are very much appreciated and certainly contribute to our international musicians looking forward to the next invitation to play for us. – they become popular repeat artists. Thank you very much !
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Dear all ! In the hopes that you are whiling away the Amigo winter break in the magic of the Algarve almond blossoms, we here in tumultuous London town are timidly and carefully partaking in some of the reappearing symphonic music concerts, like today´s Philharmonia matinee at Royal Festival Hall. Yes, COVID concerns are still around, and masks are worn during the performances, but distancing is here already a matter of the past.
Keeping an eye on the pandemic development in the Algarve, and in Europe in general, I am now beginning to look forward to the second half of our 2021\22 concert season. Flights within Europe seem to be more and more secure and less complicated and we can hope for unencumbered arrivals of our international musicians. Here once more for your agendas the updated Concert Schedule for the coming 4 months – please note the change of dates in June:
